Meet our 2025-2026 Journalism Staff

Katelin Batan, 9th

My name is Katelin, and I’m a freshman staff writer. I am a bookworm, and I also love to write stories of my own (although I haven’t finished any)! I do love to draw, and I’m in art. My favorite color is blue, and another cool thing about me is that I do mixed martial arts outside of school (karate, taekwondo, kickboxing, and jiu jitsu).

Anamika Bhattacharjee, 9th

My name is Anamika, and I’m a freshman at CHS. I’m new to Celina, but I used to live in Frisco. I am good at interviewing, taking pictures, and writing stories. I don’t have many hobbies because I’m addicted to my phone, but I guess you can say I like swimming, traveling, listening to music, etc.

Emma Delafuente, 12th

My name is Emma Delafuente. I’m a senior, and it’s my first year in Celina. Previously, I lived Leander, Texas. I LOVE my friends and family, and they always come first on whatever I do in my life. They’ve done everything for me, and God has made me responsible to protect them. My best friend is my dad; he is my role model and gives me the best advice anytime I need it. I’ve been a barista for 3 years, and I’ve been in Journalism for 4 years, as well. I used to play softball throughout my life, but it got cut short due to transferring. I’ve also been a photographer for 5 years. I want to do Sports Broadcasting in college and try to get internships at Texas Tech or Oregon.

Blair Gonzalez, 10th

I’m Blair Gonzalez, I am sophomore, and this is my first year in Journalism. My life is always a little chaotic but never boring with four dogs, and my love for riding horses keeps me busy and on my toes. When I am finally at the end of my day, I love to curl up with a good book or let my thoughts spill onto the page in the form of poetry. I’m also a very special person and love being around friends. Whether we’re halfway through laughing, going to football games, or talking about life and going on a drive, those moments mean so much to me. Horse riding is one of the biggest parts of who I am. Horse riding has taught me to communicate without words, how to stay balanced in both my body and mind. Whether I’m moving at a gentle walk or flying across a field at a gallop, being on a horse reminds me how freeing it is to just let go.

Olivia Hancock, 11th

Hi, I’m Livie Hancock, an editor for the Celina High School Journalism team! I have always had a passion for writing, and I hope to pursue a career in Journalism or Writing one day! Some of the other things that I love doing include running, scrapbooking, and Bible study. I love volunteering and being involved in my community, and I really value spending time with my family and friends outside of school!

My name is Olivia Higgins. I’m 15 and a sophomore at Celina. I read a ton, and I like to hang out with my friends. I have lived in Celina for two years, and I am on the Wrestling team. I like reading psychological thrillers.
